Note: this article assumes you are using the WooCommerce API version 4.7 and WordPress version 5.3 or newer. The exact steps may vary if your version is different.

When adding Hotspots to your Sauce items, the common approach is to copy and paste the URL. But, if you are using WooCommerce, then you can take advantage of the API support it has, to link up your Sauce account. From here, you can look up the product on Sauce by name, rather than URL. The steps are as follows:

Ensure you have enabled Permalinks

Please check that you have enabled Permalinks for your WooCommerce store. Simply head to 'Settings > Permalinks' and select a format for your WooCommerce Product URLs (anything other than the 'Plain' option):

Connect via your Sauce account

Head to the 'Account' section of your Sauce account. Scroll down to the integrations section and enter your Woocommerce URL into the WooCommerce field. This should be the URL to the home of your Woocommerce store.

Approve the WooCommerce connection

Click Connect and you'll be sent to your WooCommerce instance and asked if you are happy to provide Read access to Sauce. Approve the connection and you're done.

Get Linking!

With your WooCommerce now connected to your Sauce account: simply go to add a link to any of your Sauce items, and upon typing into the URL field, matching suggestions will appear:
